We plan activities for the residents on a daily basis and try to offer a varied & interesting choice of activities in the way of music, hand/eye co-ordination sessions, tai chi, reiki, ten pin bowling, art and craft therapy, literature sessions, discos, quizzes, themed meals, bingo, computing, digital photography, barbeques, group film/video sessions, card and board games and many more. We are always willing to try new activities at the Little Oyster and ideas and suggestions are welcome and encouraged from both residents and staff.
Every week various trips are organised for residents using our two specially adapted Minibuses. Days out include visits to restaurants, pubs, cinemas, shopping centres, theatres and places of interest. Appointments for individual residents ( Drs, Dentist, hospital etc,) always take priority over group trips, but the management endeavour to inform residents as soon as possible if trips have to be cancelled or postponed.
Many of the trips and activities are organised at the suggestion of the residents and it is entirely your choice to join in or attend as you so wish.
The Home employs a full-time Activities Co-ordinator who consults with residents & the management to organise & facilitate trips & activities throughout the year.
